To establish the analytical tools and provide the conceptual boundaries between FM and MA;
Identify risk factors (at the individual level, family relationships, community and society) that increase vulnerabilities towards FMs and which lead to different forms of gender violence; and 3) design successful strategies for prevention and response to FMs that are efficient. The starting points of our approach are: 1) a comparative and multilevel perspective (local, national and international)
Design successful strategies for prevention and response to FMs that are efficient.
A comparative and multilevel perspective (local, national and international)
An interdisciplinary approach (socio-anthropological and legal)
Gender dimension, taking into account that these practices impact differently in women and men
Transnational dimension, since they are practices that transcend national borders.
Temporal dimension, considering that FM and AM are dynamic practices that cross the life trajectory of individuals and are constantly evolving, adapting and changing (mainly as a result of migration and settlement processes).
Multivariate, since FMs and AMs are integrated in complex assemblages that oscillate between consent versus coercion while in between there is a large gray space of interactions that allow the existence of a multiplicity of (non) negotiated situations.
